Matrix now has a facility in La Habra Heights and are trying to get it permitted. This facility is just outside the East boarder of Whittier (Friendly Hills - see map below). How many more facilities are they going to build in the Hills?

3.0 Cumulative Projects
3.2.1.3 City of La Habra Heights
The City of La Habra Heights does not currently have any active or proposed cumulative projects in the cumulative impact study area that have completed applications on file with the City of La Habra Heights. However, in December of 2010 Matrix submitted an application to the City of La Habra Heights to develop oil and gas in an existing oil field within the City of La Habra Heights (number 27 on Figure 3-1). The project would include: reentering existing wells for recompleting or drilling deeper; drilling new wells; construction of new surface facilities to separate water from oil and to clean produced gas to pipeline quality; construction of a new truck loading facility for shipping oil; and construction of associated pipelines and support facilities. The project would produce up to 1,500 barrels per day of crude oil, 3 million standard cubic feet per day of gas and would involve drilling up to 25 production wells and five injection wells. The City of La Habra Heights project site is approximately 1.6 miles southeast of the proposed Project site.
